Prov.:calligraphic statement, hard to read, with an incomplete seal (p. 158). This manuscript originally formed a single codex with the current manuscript 5521 (Toomer and Rashed refer to these manuscripts by their respective catalogue numbers 392 and 393). Accession number: ‘19300’ (online, scan slip). Some information about the provenance is reported on a page that is now bound in manuscript 5521, including the date of completion and ownership statements from the reign of the Mughal emperor Shāh Jahān (d. 1666 AD) (Gulchīn Maʿānī, Toomer).
Cod.: paper, 158 pp. (paginated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil at the top of each page, often cut off, reiterated at the bottom between parentheses; catchwords often trimmed). A single regular cursive hand in black, ‘between naskh and nastaʿlīq’ (Gulchīn Maʿānī, Thomann); occasionally dotted without further diacritical marks. Section or paragraph numbering with overlined abjad in the margin for some of the longer treatises (pp. 1–31, 48–81, 99–101, 112–128). Numerous empty spaces reserved for diagrams; geometrical points in the main text in black and overlined. Codex in good condition, main text hardly ever damaged. Dimensions: 24×13.5 cm, written area 16.5×8 cm (Gulchīn Maʿānī); 27 lines per page.
