General Information:

Nadine Löhr is a researcher and publications manager at the Institute for the History of Arabic-Islamic Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt, where she serves as editor of the Journal for the History of Arabic-Islamic Sciences. Her research focuses on the transmission of astronomical and astrological knowledge in the Islamicate world, with particular emphasis on Arabic manuscripts, commentary traditions, and marginal annotations. Her PhD dissertation examined the Arabic manuscript transmission of Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos, tracing its reception from the early Islamic period to the Ottoman era. At Goethe University, she coordinates an initiative to document and study Arabic manuscripts circulating through the contemporary antiquarian book trade.
