Prov.:loan statement by a certain Asad Allāh, stating that the manuscript belongs to Sayyid Ṣadr al-Dīn (1r). Ownership statements by ʿAbd al-Qādir b. Abī Bakr b. Saʿīd, Muḥammad Abū … b. Muḥammad Abū l-ʿAbbās …, Muḥammad b. al-Qaṭṭān (dated 931/1524-5), Muḥammad b. Abī Bakr al-Bakrūdī (?) (dated 1 Muḥarram 985/21 March 1577), and twice by Sayyid Muṣṭafā al-Najjār (one dated 1124/1712-3 and the other 1129/1716-7), all on f. 1r. Entrance stamp of the Kitābkhāna-yi Majid al-Dīn (1r).
Cod.: paper, 333 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil on versos; quire numbers written out on every tenth recto; catchwords). Various naskh hands in black in the first work, a single naskh hand in black in the Ptolemaic work, all with fully dotted ductus. Numerous words and phrases rubricated on ff. 1v–47r, somewhat less so on ff. 170v–229v, none in between; in the Ptolemaic work qawluhu / aqūlū in red. Two diagrams with black lines in the Ptolemaic work; no tables. Codex in acceptable condition; major water damage at the bottom of all pages in the second half of the codex and on f. 1. Dimensions: 27×18 cm; 25 lines per page. Brown leather cover. Type III binding.
