A note on the perception of the planets quoted from (al-Shīrāzī’s?) al-Tuḥfa, followed by a statement of purchase in Tehran in 1322/1904-5, with a seal ‘Ḍiyāʾ al-Dīn’ (1r). Illegible small oval seals stamped at the top left corner of some rectos (e.g., 47r). A small round stamp of the Kutubkhāna-yi Majlis-i Sinā (Senate Library) (45v), and a larger one crossed out (159v). Transferred from the Kitābkhāna-yi Majlis-i Sinā; old shelfmark: ‘2248’.

(unfoliated; quires numbered with Hindu-Arabic numerals at the top left of every eighth recto, starting with ‘2’ on f. 8r, sometimes omitted; small paper slips inserted after ff. 10, 122, 127, and 131; catchwords). A clear naskh hand; fully dotted ductus. Book titles in red and/or black, mostly centred and often at the top of a new page; titles of Books VIII, XI and XII in large bold thuluth, title of Book VIII spread out over two facing pages of the star catalogue. Section numbers in bold black abjad, section titles in red; proposition numbers in overlined red abjad in the margins. Abjad numerals in red; geometrical points in the text neither rubricated nor overlined. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or vice versa. Tables with red lines. Codex in good condition; water stains along the bottom and upper outer edges through most of the manuscript, never hindering the reading; first and last folios worn and stained; numerous small coffee stains on ff. 10–12; some further stains. Dimensions: 24×14 cm, written area: 18×10 cm; 24 lines per page (misṭara imprints). Brown leather covers over cardboard; marbled paper doublures. Type III binding.
