Talk by Henry Zepeda on ‘Geometry and geometrical reasoning in Peurbach and Regiomontanus’ Epitome Almagesti’
On Monday, 18 January 2021 at 4 pm CET, the PAL research associate Henry Zepeda gives a presentation entitled ‘Geometry and geometrical reasoning in Peurbach and Regiomontanus’ Epitome Almagesti’ in the workshop “Geometrical reasoning and visual culture: shaping astronomy and other scientiae mediae” of the ERC project ALFA: Shaping a European scientific scene: Alfonsine astronomy at the Paris Observatory. Henry Zepeda worked in the Ptolemaeus Arabus et Latinus project from 2013 to 2018 and is the author of the PAL volume The First Latin Treatise on Ptolemaic Astronomy. The Almagesti minor (c. 1200) (downloadable from this link). He is currently in the process of finishing his edition of the Epitome Almagesti.
