Prov.:a magic square (1r); two smudged, illegible octagonal stamps (1r). The manuscript matches the microfilm scans of an unnumbered manuscript allegedly held at the Sulṭān al-Madāris Library in Lucknow and still lacking the round Millī Library stamps found on ff. 1v, 40r and 56v. Additional shelfmark: ‘138’ (front flyleaves).
Cod.: paper, 56 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil; traces of a pagination in pencil at the top centre of most pages; catchwords in the bottom centre). A single neat black naskh hand; mostly dotted ductus with occasional diacritics. Pseudo-Ptolemy’s verba overlined in red, with numbering written out in full. First page with a headpiece for the basmala in gold, red and green and interlinear spaces filled in gold (1v). Codex in bad condition; damage by moisture and insects throughout, ink corroding the paper; numerous pasted paper slips and strips of tape, occasionally affecting the readability. Dimensions: 25.3×16.5 cm, written area: 17.2×9.5 cm; 19 lines per page on ff. 1v–52v, 10 lines on ff. 53r–56v. Red leather covers over marbled paper pasteboards, decorated with a golden floral motif. Type III binding.
