Four parts of a single work: Arabic. Undated; unknown origin and scribe.  Prov.:

undated collation statement in a hand different from the scribe by Aḥmad b. Naṣrallāh al-Tatawī (d. 996/​1587), stating that he collated the manuscript against another one copied in ‘baldat Lāhūr’ and dated Thursday, 6 Shawwal 950/​3 January 1544 (217r). Rectangular stamps of endowment in Persian dated 1325/​1946-7 (e.g., 5r, 119r, 189v, 254v); the manuscript was donated to the library on ‘4.9.1329’/​25 November 1950 by the Shāpūr State School (library slip on front doublure). Round library stamps (Ir, 4r).

Cod.: paper, II+254+IIa ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil in the top right margin of versos, only occasionally visible on the scans, possibly trimmed; ff. 1–3 lost; catchwords). A single naskh hand; almost fully dotted ductus, frequent vowel marks, hamzas and shaddas. Headings of books in red thuluth; in the Ptolemaic section, heading for Book XII displayed as chapter heading, heading for Book XIII missing; section headings in red; some reserved spaces for chapter headings in Book XII (177r, 179r, 180r). Abjad numerals, Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals, and geometrical points in the text overlined in red or black. Diagrams in the Ptolemaic section with red lines and all geometrical points missing except on ff. 174v–175v; some reserved spaces for diagrams (10v, 13r–v, 138v). Codex in bad condition; damage by insects, water damage in the margins, binding becoming loose; some pages restored (e.g., 22v–23r, 66v, 253r–254v). Dimensions: 21.5×11 cm, written area: 15.5×6 cm; 23 lines per page. Modern covers made of yellowish cardboard with brown leather spine, in bad condition. Type III binding.
