Prov.:the aforementioned note in Persian by Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ b. Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Muḥammad al-Jīlī, who additionally states that his son Ḍiyāʾ al-Dīn Yūsuf will inherit the manuscript, accompanied by a round seal dated 1067/1656-7 (1r; Bahura). An erased statement, partially covered up by a small slip of paper, including a basmala and leaving only the last part of a name … al-Dīn ʿAlī legible (1r). A note in Sanskrit about the date of accession by the rulers of Jaipur in the month Phalguna of the Saṃvat year 1782, corresponding to December 1726 (IIr; Bahura). Several further notes in Sanskrit (front cover, Ir, IIr, 1r). A stamp of the ‘Art Gallery of the City Palace Jaipur’ with the current shelfmark (Ir).
Cod.: paper, III+97+Ia ff. (foliated with Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals at the centre top of rectos; ff. 73–96 bound after f. 8, with f. 96 preceding ff. 94–95; catchwords). A single black nastaʿlīq hand; almost fully dotted ductus, some hamzas, few vowel marks, no shaddas. Book headings rubricated, headings of Books I and VIII missing; section beginnings in red (omitted on ff. 1v–8v) and mostly introduced by red abjad numerals with red overlines. Abjad numerals and Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals not highlighted. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points, sometimes vice versa; some diagrams in the margins and some diagrams lacking geometrical points (e.g., 18v, 44v). Tables with red lines, some incomplete (86r–87r, 95v). Codex illuminated; an ornamental headpiece mostly in blue and gold with floral motifs and lancets; goldish frame around the text area on all pages. Codex in acceptable condition; considerable damage by insects sometimes affecting the readability; few parts of pages restored; binding becoming loose. Dimensions: 21.9×12.1 cm; 35 lines per page. Pink mashru (cloth) covers with floral motifs and green doublures. Type III binding.
