Or.:unknown; copied by Mirzā ʿAbbās from the ‘correct vowelised exemplar’ (al-nuskha al-ṣaḥīḥa al-mushakkala), which is stated to be a third-generation copy of a manuscript ‘transcribed’ (nasakha-hā) by ʿAbd al-ʿAlī l-Birjandī (222r).
Prov.:a seal illegible on the scans (1r), possibly of the ʿAlī b. Taḥsīn who is mentioned as an owner by King. A brief statement with identification of the work (IIv). Library stamp (1r, 22v, 224v). Accession no. 5193/1961 (1r).
Cod.: paper, II+222+IIa ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in the upper left area of rectos; an unnumbered sheet with a diagram, partially folded in, after f. 20; ff. 124–127 inserted upside-down in reverse order; catchwords). A single naskh hand; fully dotted ductus. Book and section titles mostly framed, all books starting with a framed basmala on a new page. Proposition numbers written out in the margins. Abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals in red. Nicely drawn diagrams in black and red, mostly in the margins (except in Book XI). Tables with titles in thuluth, often unfinished; a rosette (117v). A frame and an outer rule border on every page; an additional frame on f. 1v, apparently intended for a headpiece. Codex seemingly in good condition. Dimensions: 29×18 cm; 21 lines per page.
