Prov.:an oval seal of Faḍl Allāh with floral motifs (1r). Ownership statement by Muḥammad b. Muḥammad Zamān (1r). A long Persian statement, dated 20 Rajab 1166/23 May 1753, by Āghā Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn al-Khādim-i Isfahānī, who endowed the present codex to the Āstān-i Quds together with 170 other volumes (1r, with his oval seal). An oval seal of Muḥammad Raḥīm dated 1204 (?)/1789-90 (1r). A rectangular endowment seal ‘Sarkār Fayḍ Āthār’, the former designation of the Āstān-i Quds (1v, 101r, 159r, 213r, erased or smeared on f. 349r). An oval seal ‘anā ʿabd min ʿubayd Muḥammad’ with floral motives, dated 1282/1865-6 (349v). The word waqf written through the text area on various pages. Nine inspection statements covering the period from 1266/1850 to 1312/1894, mostly dated and with mention of the name of the inspector.
Cod.: paper, 350+Ia ff. (foliated with Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals on rectos; the misplaced f. 350 belongs after f. 345; two marginal notes folded in [21r, 41v], a diagram on an inserted slip [297v]; catchwords, mostly trimmed in Part II). The codex falls into two parts. Part I (1v–104v): a naskh hand in black; almost fully dotted ductus. Part II (105r–350v), possibly replacing a heavily damaged part of the original codex: a nastaʿlīq hand in black; partially dotted ductus with elongated bowls, especially for nūn. Book titles in part I in red, in Part II in enlarged bold black; section titles in both parts in red. Abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals and qawlu-hu / aqūlu in red; geometrical points in the text in black without overlines. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points and labels, mostly extending into the margins. Tables with red lines. Part I of the codex in bad condition; significant water damage on the lower half of all pages, large stains at the top of all pages up to f. 58. Part II in excellent condition. Dimensions: 23.3×13.3 cm, written area: 13.6×7 cm; 27 lines per page. Simple brown leather covers with violet pastedowns. Type III binding.
