a faded oval seal ‘Mishkāt al-Mulk’ (p. 2). An ownership statement by Ḥusayn Khalaf al-Ḥājj Mīr ʿAbdī Muḥammad al-Dazfūlī al-Mūsawī in blue ink (p. 320). Persian statement in red ink by the patron of the copy, mentioning a price of two tūmān for scribe and paper (p. 320); statement in black ink by the scholar Jamāl al-Dīn Ḥumāʾī (1900–1980), expressing his surprise about the low price (p. 320); the manuscript was purchased from his daughter Mihrdukht Humāʾī (online). A round library stamp (pp. 4, 320).

Cod.: paper, 320 pp. (paginated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil, p. 1 being a recto; page numbers mostly cut off from the scans; an unnumbered much older sheet of paper after p. 154, containing an extract from an unidentified philosophical work written in nastaʿlīq; catchwords). A single neat naskh hand in black; fully dotted ductus. Book and chapter titles in enlarged bold red; book header centred with some distance from the end of the preceding book or on a new page; section numbers repeated in the margin. Abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals in red or overlined in red; geometrical points in the text not highlighted in any way. Extensive use of red overlines for emphasis of certain words in some parts of the codex. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points, occasionally the other way around. Tables with red lines and some column headers in blue; a rosette (p. 155). Codex in very good condition; some stains. Dimensions: 29.6×20.0 cm, written area: 20.5×10.0 cm; 25 lines per page. Light-brown leather covers over pasteboards. Type III binding.
