the MS belonged to a bishop of Vaison-la-Romaine and appears to have been in northern Italy by the end of the 14th c., for f. 54v contains the fragment of an act issued by Cardinal Francesco Renzio (d. 1390) concerning taxes in Florence. The MS later belonged to the Florentine Dominican Benedetto Pagagnotti (d. 1523) and to ‘three brothers Tramezini’, who gave it to the bishop of Viterbo Giampietro Grassi (d. 1538), whose library was bought by cardinal Alessandro Farnese. The history of the MS is detailed by notes in three different hands on f. Ir: ‘Hic liber est r<everen>di domini episcopi Vasienensis’, ‘Domini Benedicti de Pagagnottis de Florentia ordinis Predicatorum’ and ‘Post hoc Tramezini fratres Bibliopolae Romae donarunt Jo. Crasso episcopo Viterbiensi’ (Ir).
