a horoscope which, on the basis of its planetary positions, can be dated to 19 Dhū l-qaʿda 1258/22 December 1842 (70v). A stamp of the Ẓāhiriyya library (6r). Old shelfmarks or accession numbers: ‘khaṭṭ (?) 98’ (upper margins of most versos), and ‘459’ (1r).

Cod.: paper, 70 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in the upper left corner of rectos; catchwords in the scribe’s hand). A single elegant nastaʿlīq hand; final hamzas mostly written, hardly any shaddas or maddas. Reserved spaces for chapter titles and rubrications from f. 20v onwards, paragraph beginnings overlined (e.g., 32v–33v). No abjad notation, numbers in the main text written out (e.g., 16r). No tables or diagrams. Dimensions: 25×16 cm; 15 lines per page. Severely damaged, substantial moisture stains affecting the readability of about one third of each page, lower outer corners possibly cut off.
