Or.:unknown; unknown scribe; the colophon (f. 146v) states that this manuscript is a third generation copy of an autograph, from which the colophon and autograph statement by al-Nīsābūrī are reproduced exactly as found in MS Tunis, Waṭaniyya, 3663; one of the ancestors was dated to 890 (?)/1485-6 but is unlikely to be MS Istanbul, Köprülü, Fazıl Ahmed Paşa 942 (dated 17 Jumādā l-ūlā 890/1 June 1485) since that codex does not include the autograph statement.
Prov.:undated long collation statement by Ḥājjī ʿAbd al-Ghanī in a thick nastaʿlīq hand (146v). Large and small round stamps of the Āṣafiyya Library/the Hyderabad State Library (2r, 3r, 11r, 105r and 146v). Accession no. ‘8470’ (front doublure, 1r, 2r).
Cod.: paper, 148 ff. (foliated with Urdu forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil in the upper centre of rectos; ‘p. 290’ in Arabic-European numerals in pencil in the upper left corner of f. 146v; catchwords). A single nastaʿlīq hand with some tendency to naskh; mostly dotted ductus, some vowel marks and hamzas, very few shaddas. Book headings in bold red thuluth; section beginnings in red; propositions numbered with red overlined abjad numerals in the margins. Qawlu-hu / aqūlu in red; abjad numerals overlined or in red. Diagrams with black lines and red geometrical points or exceptionally vice versa. Tables with red lines (18r–v). Ornamented headpiece in light blue and gold with the remainder of the page left blank (1v); text area on ff. 1r–3r, 147r–148r surrounded by a golden frame with blue and red rule-borders, text area of f. 146v surrounded by two thin rule-borders in red. Codex in mediocre condition; damage by insects throughout, sometimes affecting the readability; damage by insects and most of the folds repaired with transparent tape; lower outer corner of ff. 2–8 and some folds restored with pieces of paper. Dimensions: not given; 27 lines per page.
