Two short notes on ratios (1r); notes with the geographical coordinates of Alexandria and Rhodos and the mean and true solar positions and right ascension of the sun at noon for the era of Nabonassar (1r). A damaged note of purchase dated Sunday, 13 Rabīʿ al-awwal … (1r). A statement of donorship to Muḥammad ʿAlī from his father; three seals of Muḥammad Riḍā al-Munajjim, one faded; an ownership statement by Muḥammad ʿAlī b. Muḥammad Riḍā, with his damaged seal; a statement of transfer from Muḥammad ʿAlī al-munajjim to Muẓaffar Ḥusayn, with the latter’s faded seal (all on 1r); the same family also owned MS Tehran, Millī, Ar. 1628. Ownership statement by Muḥammad Bāqir known as al-Ḥakīm al-Nizārī Muḥammad b. al-Karbalāʾī, dated 1255/1839-40 (1r). Oval ex-libris stamp of 〈Muḥāmmad〉 al-Samāwī, dated 1354/1935-6 (1r).
Cod.: paper, 342 ff. (unfoliated; three loose slips of paper with notes and diagram sketches; catchwords). A single clear naskh hand; fully dotted ductus, some vowel marks. Book and chapter headings and qawlu-hu in red; aqūlu and some other sentence beginnings sometimes overlined in red or black. Abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals and geometrical points in the text overlined in red. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or vice versa, occasionally entirely in black or with mixed colours. Tables with red and black lines. Codex in good condition with the exception of major damage by a flap on ff. 314–342 with longish holes filled up with white paper attached with small pieces of yellowish tape; stains on ff. 1–2. Dimensions: 24.8×16 cm; 24 lines per page. Currently or previously type II binding.
