a possible statement of purchase, partially smudged and dated Dhū l-qaʿda 1046/‌March-April 1637 in connection with a certain … Muḥammad Ibrāhīm (p. 195). Two black oval seals of Muḥammad b. Ṣādiq al-Ḥusaynī (pp. 1 and 189); Two rectangular seals in blue ink of Muḥammad Ṣādiq Ḥusaynī al-Ṭabāṭabāʾī (pp. I, 195). The manuscript was part of the private collection of Sayyid Muḥammad Ṣādiq Ṭabāṭabāʾī, which he donated to the Majlis library (see Naẓarī, introduction). Two illegible seals (p. I); three library stamps (pp. 1, 99, 189). Accession number: ‘31984’ (p. I).

Cod.: paper, I+195 pp. (paginated with stamped Hindu-Arabic numerals, Persian variants, mostly in the upper margins; irregular foliation with Hindu-Arabic numerals, Persian variants, in pencil in the upper left corner of some rectos throughout the manuscript; catchwords). Two hands. Main hand (pp. 1–37 and 52–189): a mostly, towards the end sparsely, dotted nastaʿlīq; no vowel marks, shaddas or hamzas; rare maddas. Second hand (pp. 38–51): a dense naskh with a clear tendency to nastaʿlīq; mostly dotted ductus, few shaddas and hamzas, no vowel marks, some lām-alif muḥaqqaqas. Diagrams only on pp. 185–187, with red lines and black geometrical points. Abjad numerals in the main text not highlighted. Codex in good condition; water damage in the bottom margins of the first work, with the affected text repeated in the margins, possibly in the hand of the scribe (e.g., pp. 57–83); restored margins on pp. 38–51; last page damaged by former flap. Dimensions: 19.5×12.5 cm , written area: c. 13×7 cm ; 17–20 lines per page, except on pp. 38–51: 27–30 lines per page. Dark brown covers with doublures made of marbled paper. Type III binding, previously type II.
