a Persian note stating a price of 5 shāhī paid for each of fifty diagrams (1r). Oval seal of Luṭf ʿAlī, oval seal of the prince Farhād Mīrzā Muʿtamid al-Dawla, and an illegible oval seal (all on f. 1r). A small oval seal ‘Ḥasan Muḥammad’ (50v); seals glued over with pieces of paper (e.g., 15r, 36r, 44r). Modern Persian notes on Ibn Sīnā and his works on mathematics and astronomy, with date 1347 hs/​1968 (IIv); a short Persian poem (Iar). Librarian’s notes with indication of the contents (Ir).

Cod.: paper, II+146+Ia ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pen; no catchwords). A single naskh hand in black; fully dotted ductus. Book titles inconsistently in gold, red, or bold and slightly enlarged; section titles in red. Some Hindu-Arabic numerals in red; abjad numerals and geometrical points in the text not highlighted. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points. No tables, but some reserved spaces in the fourth part. Golden frame with brown rule-border around the text, interrupted for diagrams sticking out of the text area. Codex in very good condition; minor stains and creases. Dimensions: 30.5×17.3 cm; 33 lines per page. Red leather cover with a blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and frame; pastedowns with floral motifs. Type III binding.

Cont.: geometry, astronomy, arithmetic, music. — Index: modern table of contents (Iv); title page (1r); Ibn Sīnā, Kitāb al-Shifāʾ, al-Riyāḍiyyāt, including: al-handasa (1v–49v); Ptolemaica (50r–116r); al-ārithmāṭīqī (116r–127v); al-mūsīqā (128r–146v). All four parts start with an enlarged basmala, none has a title. Blank: Iar–v.
