Prov.:ownership statement by Muḥammad Yūnus, son of the late Shaykh Kāẓim al-Kāẓimī, with a seal mentioning the name Ismaʿīl (p. I). Two undated lists of books, upside-down, formerly belonging to Muḥammad Riḍā b. Ḥājī Muḥammad Ḥādī and intended for Ḥājī Ḥusayn ʿĀlī (p. IIa); the lists mention among others a copy of the Majisṭī, Sharḥ Majisṭī Niẓām, Sharḥ Majisṭī ʿAbd al-ʿAlī, and another Sharḥ … Majisṭī. At least five erased statements and four erased seals (p. I); an illegible oval seal (p. 341). A small oval seal ‘Muḥammad Ḥusayn’ (pp. 17, 99, 199 and 301) and a modern stamp with Roman letters ‘MH’ (pp. I and 341), commonly found in manuscripts of the Malik library. An ownership statement in nastaʿlīq and a stamp of the Malik Library with the current shelf mark, dated 16 Farvardīn 1331/5 April 1952 (p. I).
Cod.: paper, I+341+IIa pp. (paginated with Persian forms of odd Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil in the upper right corner of versos; catchwords, often omitted up to p. 117). A single naskh hand, gradually thinner and with tendency to nastaʿlīq towards the end; almost fully dotted ductus, some vowel marks. Book and section titles in bold thuluth; additional basmala for Book VII; qawlu-hu / aqūlu in red; propositions from section II.7 (p. 73) onwards mostly numbered with red overlined abjad numerals in the margins. Abjad numerals mostly overlined, some in red with or without overlines; Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals mostly overlined. Carefully drawn diagrams with black lines and red geometrical points and exceptionally vice versa. Tables with red lines. Dimensions: 23.6×15.7 cm; 29 lines per page (27 lines on pp. 1–13). Codex in good condition; water or moisture damage in the upper part of all pages; some margins restored. Red leather covers with frames. Type III binding.
