Ptolemaic work copied from an exemplar dated to midday of Friday, 27 Rajab 1027/​20 July 1618 and copied in Mecca by Ḥasan b. Muḥammad known as ʿĀṣī (118r); the scribe finished transferring text and glosses from a manuscript of al-Birjandī’s commentary (khaṭṭ al-Birjandī) into the margins of the present manuscript on Tuesday, 18 Muḥarram 1314/​30 June 1896 (118r). Second work copied by Hādī b. ʿAbbās, son of ʿAlī (174r).

Cod.: paper, 174 ff. (unfoliated; paper slips inserted after ff. 44, 52, 58, and 60; catchwords in both works). Two different hands for the two works. First hand (Ptolemaic work, 1v–118r): riqāʿ characteristics, written with a thick nibbed pen; dotted ductus. Book and section titles overlined (rubrication difficult to discern on the black-and-white scans). Abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals and various words overlined; geometrical points in the text with individual short overlines. Colours of diagrams indiscernable on the scans. Tables partially written vertically and in the margins; a rosette (63r). Second hand (118v–174r): riqāʿ, dotted ductus; book and section titles overlined; from f. 141v onwards tables unfilled and diagrams without lettering. Codex apparently in very good condition. Dimensions: 31×21.5 cm; 31 lines per page.
