undated statement of ownership by al-Sayyid Muṣṭafā ‘the teacher at the … school’ (مدرسة انجه كوزل), with his oval seal (1r). An erased ownership statement with an illegible oval seal (1r); an erased short note (1r). Ex-libris of the Yahuda collection of the current library mentioning ‘Robert Garrett 〈of the class of 18〉97’ as the donor (front doublure); Robert S. Garrett (1875–1961) was an US-American athlete, banker and manuscript collector who donated his collection to the Princeton University Library in 1942. A former shelfmark (?) in Arabic: ‘2/231 ’ (sticker on front doublure).

Cod.: paper, 40 ff. (foliated with Arabic-European numerals in pencil; a foliation with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pen, skipping the empty double-page 9v–10r and the last folio; catchwords added after the codex became disordered). A single nastaʿlīq hand; almost fully dotted ductus, some vowel marks and hamzas, few shaddas. Book headings mostly in bold thuluth; most chapter beginnings in red and introduced by bold overlined abjad numerals; most propositions numbered in the margins with red overlined abjad numerals. Abjad numerals and Persian forms of Hindu Arabic numerals in red and/or overlined in red. Diagrams in Book III mostly incomplete or missing. Tables with red lines, one incomplete (26r). Codex seemingly in very good condition; few ink stains (21r, 28v); minor damage to the first and last folios. Dimensions: 22.3×16.6 cm, written area: 16.5×7.0 cm; 27 lines per page. Type II binding.
