The main Ptolemaic work was copied from an exemplar by the hand of Niẓām al-Dīn Muḥammad that had been collated against a manuscript attributed to al-Ṭūsī himself; Niẓām al-Dīn had finished the tables, marginalia and diagrams in the morning of 2 Rajab 1074/30 January 1664, the letters denoting geometrical points (arqāmu-hā) on 15 Rajab 1074/12 February 1664, and the text on 11 Shawwāl 1074/7 May 1664 (147r). According to a note dated to the night of Friday, the last day (salkh) of Rabīʿ al-awwal 1087/12 June 1676, marginal annotations to the Kitāb al-Ukar were copied by the scribe from an exemplar in the hand of the well-known mathematician Muḥammad Bāqir al-Yazdī (175v).

Muḥammad Ibrāhīm 〈al-Nāẓir〉 al-Raḍawī (on his father, see Ḥasan al-Amīn, Mustadrakāt aʿyān al-shīʿa, 11 vols, Bayrūt: Dār al-taʿāruf li-l-maṭbūʿāt, 1986–2006, here vol. II, p. 219) (1r); a whole page with names and birth dates, ranging from 1191/1777-8 to 1233/1817-8, in the hand of al-Raḍawī (176r); oval seals of Muḥammad al-Raḍawī dated 1218 (?)/1803-4 (1r [twice], 153r, 160r, 162r, 176r, 214r). Two Persian ownership statements in thuluth by Mīrzā Muḥammad ʿAlī and a third statement by him in nastaʿlīq (1r). A fine naskh hand; almost fully dotted ductus with elongated ascenders, some vowel marks, few hamzas. Book headings of the main Ptolemaic work in bold black thuluth (heading of Book I in red), section beginnings in red and introduced by bold black overlined abjad numerals; qāla / aqūlu overlined in red; propositions indicated by red abjad numerals, mostly with red overlines, in the margins. Abjad numerals overlined, in the Ptolemaic works also in red with or without overlines; Persian variants of Hindu-Arabic numerals in red. Carefully drawn diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or sometimes vice versa; geometrical points missing from f. 193v onwards, some reserved spaces (e.g., 174r, 194v). Tables with red lines. Text area on ff. 1v–8v surrounded by a red rule-border. Codex in very good condition; some water and moisture damage, mostly in the margins; some stains (e.g., 12v–13r, 155r); some margins and folds restored (e.g., ff. I–1, 47, 210–214). Dimensions 31×19 cm; 27 lines per page. Light-brown leather covers with dark-brown onlaid frames. Type III binding.
