Prov.:undated oval seal of Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ḥalīm b. ʿAbd al-Raḥīm (1r). Blue stamp of the ‘Kutubkhāna-yi Riyāsat-i Rāmpūr’, the precursor of the Raza Library (e.g., 1r 17v, 180av). Undated note ‘488 ṣafḥa, alṭāf al-Raḥmān’, indicating the number of pages according to the early catalogue (180av); old shelfmark: ‘ḥayʾat ʿārabī 62’ (1r). Acquisition number ‘S.T. 1433’ by ʿArshī Zāda, dated 25.10.〈19〉95 (1r); registration number ‘4575’ (1r). Several further library labels with numbers.
Cod.: paper, 60+180a ff. (two separate foliations with Hindu-Arabic numerals in the same hand for Book I and for Books II and III; single leaves after ff. 59 and 104a and two leaves after f. 90a skipped; f. 1ar numbered ‘61’, ff. 174ar–176av belong after f. 117av; catchwords). A single clear naskh hand in black; almost fully dotted ductus with occasional vowel marks, shaddas and tanwīns. Book and chapter numbers in red. Book and section titles, most geometrical points, and all quotations from al-Ṭūsī’s Taḥrīr overlined with red. Occasional use of Hindu-Arabic numerals (e.g., 96v, 97r). Several diagrams in Book I with red lines and black letters; only reserved spaces for diagrams and tables in Books II and III. Codex in bad condition; damage by insects throughout, in many cases repaired with transparent tape. Dimensions: 21.6×13.3 cm; 19 lines per page. Modern cloth covers half-bound with red leather; gilded inscriptions on the spine. Type III binding.
