no colophons, but this volume is part of a five-volume set (MSS 3479–3483, all in the same hand) covering the entire Kitāb al-Shifāʾ, and some of the other volumes are dated 1293/​1876.

Cod.: paper, 151 ff. (foliated with pencil at the centre top just above the framed text area; catchwords). A single, somewhat sloppy black nastaʿlīq hand; mostly dotted ductus, occasional hamzas and shaddas. First and second parts without any rubrication; numerous spaces reserved for rubrication and diagrams in the first part; section titles overlined, no diagrams and only occasional reserved spaces in the second, Ptolemaic part. Book titles in the third and fourth parts in red, numerous red overlines in the third part; tables with red lines in the third part (also in the margins), large reserved spaces in the fourth part. Extensive glosses only in the third part. All pages framed with red, blue and red lines. Codex in good condition; significant water damage in the upper outer corners, partially causing large dark-brown stains and bleeding of the colours of the frame, but not affecting the readability; some damage by insects, repaired with transparent tape; all inner margins restored. Dimensions: 32.4×24.6 cm; 23 lines per page. Modern half-bound red and light-blue leather covers. Type II binding.
