oval seal of Muḥammad Ismāʿīl b. Badīʿ al-Zamān al-Ḥusaynī below the colophon (281r). Ownership statement dated 1196/​1781-2 (f. 1r according to Khūʾī & Bābulī, not seen). Persian statement of purchase for 5 riyāl by ʿAbd al-Wahhāb from Mashhadī Ṣāliḥ Kāshānī, dated 9 Shawwāl 1305/​19 June 1888 (281r). Two different stamps of the Gulpāygānī Library (e.g., 1v, 184v, 281r); the library was founded by the Shia scholar Āyat Allāh Sayyid Muḥammad Riḍā Gulpāygānī (1899–1993) shortly before his death.

Cod.: paper, 281 ff. (unfoliated; catchwords). A black nastaʿlīq hand; mostly dotted ductus, only very few vowel marks, hamzas and shaddas except in the beginning; frequent elongated descenders. Book and chapter headings and qāla in red; heading of Book II.2 not highlighted, blank space reserved for heading of Book III.2. The three horoscopes usually found in this commentary in red and black (241r, 242v, 244v). Codex in acceptable condition; upper margins of ff. 1–19 heavily damaged by rodents, affecting the readability; minor moisture damage; a large stain in the outer margin of f. 263; binding apparently loose. Dimensions: 25×13 cm; 25 lines per page. Brown leather binding with fore-edge and envelope-flap; front doublure with marbled paper. Type II binding.
