Prov.:statement of loan to Mullā ʿAlī; owner’s name Mullā Muḥammad ʿAlī Ardakānī (both on p. 1). A Persian verse stating the number of folios (p. 270). Accession no. 2148 (p. 1 [stamp of the Salar Jung Estate Library] and p. 2); crossed-out numbers 1992, 233 and 576 (p. 1). Library stamps and notes, including restoration (tanqīḥ) stamps with the year 1958 (e.g., pp. 1, 2).
Cod.: paper, 270 pp. (paginated with bold Arabic-European numerals in pencil in the top margin; foliated with Eastern forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil just left above the text area on rectos; empty folios after pp. 56, 174 and 234; catchwords). A single neat naskh hand in black; fully dotted ductus without vowel marks, hamza and waṣla generally provided. Book numbers (written out) and section numbers (overlined abjad) in bold black, book and section titles in red. Regular use of red overlines for sentence beginnings; proposition numbers in red abjad in the margins. Abjad and Hindu-Arabic numbers and geometrical points in the text overlined in black. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or vice versa; only reserved spaces from p. 156 onwards; an inserted slip of paper with a diagram by a different hand between pp. 16 and 17. Tables with red lines; only the table of chords filled in, all other tables left empty or entirely omitted. Codex in fair condition; water damage at the top, particularly strong up to p. 23; some damage by insects, some stains. Dimensions: 21.2×11.8 cm; 25 lines per page (misṭara imprints). Type III binding.
