an ownership statement and seal dated 1199/1784-5 (1r). An ownership statement by … b. ʿAbdallāh b. ʿAlī b. ʿAlī b. Aḥmad (1r). Two statements of ownership and seals by ʿAlī b. Shaykh Aḥmad b. Zayn al-Dīn, known as ʿAlī Nāqī l-Aḥsāʾī (d. 1246/1831), the son of the celebrated Shaykh Aḥmad al-Aḥsāʾī (1v, 2r). Under the title, a price dū hazār ṣ, i.e., 2000 ṣāḥib qirān (1r; in 1241/1825-6, Fatḥ-ʿAlī Shah introduced the ṣāḥib qirān as coinage in Iran).

Cod.: paper, I+103 ff. (unfoliated; catchwords). The manuscript consists of three different parts (1r–59v, 60r–91v, 92r–103v) written on different types of paper and by at least three different clear nastaʿlīq hands in black. The moisture stains show that the parts making up the manuscript have different sources; nevertheless the written area and the number of lines are the same in all three parts. Almost fully dotted ductus; occasional vowels (mostly tanwīns), occasional hamzas but hardly any shaddas. Book title in black; chapter captions in red, but in the third part (92r–103v) in black with red overlines. No diagrams or tables. Codex in acceptable condition; significant moisture stains and partially worm-eaten. Dimensions: 17×10 cm, written area: c. 12½×6 cm; 18 lines per page.
