a statement of ownership by Ibn Muḥammad Muḥsin al-Shīrāzī next to an octagonal seal (p. 3). An undated statement by Mullā Jaʿfar Shaykh al-Islām (p. 1), maybe Mullā Muḥammad Jaʿfar al-Lāhījānī; bequest statement dated 15 Rabīʿ al-awwal 1249/2 August 1833 by Mullā Muḥammad Jaʿfar al-Lāhījānī (or al-Lāhījī) (d. 1251/1835)—the celebrated commentator of Mullā Ṣadrā’s Kitāb al-Mashāʿir—to the students of the late Mīrzā Bāqir al-Nawwāb al-Lāhījānī (or al-Lāhījī), later al-Iṣfahānī (d. 1240/1824-5)—the author of a Persian commentary on the Nahj al-balāgha among other works—, so that the present manuscript would be added to the collection of the pious foundation (waqf) created with the books of Muḥammad Bāqir al-Majlisī (d. 1110/1699), thus in Isfahan (p. 3).
