an ownership statement with seal ‘al-ʿAbd Muḥammad Riḍā al-Munajjim’ dated 1073/1662-3 (IIr), who gifted his son Muḥammad ʿAlī al-Munajjim with the book (note accompanied by a faded seal, IIr); Muḥammad ʿAlī al-Munajjim then endowed the manuscript to his son Muẓaffar Ḥusayn (statement and faded seal in the lower left corner, IIr). An ownership statement by Hāshim Munajjim Bāshī dated 1303/1885-6 (IIr). An ownership statement without date and name and an undated statement of loan (IIr). Old shelfmark: ‘1973/D’ (Ir).

Cod.: paper, II+284 ff. (foliation in Hindu-Arabic numerals, Persian forms; catchwords apparently in the hand of the scribe). Two naskh scripts in black. First hand (Muḥammad b. Jamshīd al-Māzandarānī, IIv–265r): mostly dotted, very neat ductus, more hasty towards the end; occasional vowels, shaddas and final hamzas generally provided. Second hand (Jalāl al-Dīn b. Maḥmūd al-Māzandarānī, 265v–284r): faster writing with elongated final bowls; mostly dotted ductus, occasional vowels, sporadic shaddas and final hamzas; titles and paragraph beginnings in red or afterwards rubricated with overlines. Abjad notation in the text mostly highlighted in red ink and with red or black overlines. Three horoscopes inscribed in a nastaʿlīq hand; numerous spaces in the non-Ptolemaic sections left empty for diagrams. Dimensions: 245×185 mm, written area: 170×115 mm; 25 lines per page (misṭara imprints). Codex in very good condition, occasional oil stains. Red leather covers over paper pasteboards, decorated with a golden frame. Type III binding.
