Prov.:ownership statement by Abū l-Khayr Aḥmad dated 1129/1716-7 (1r; King). Undated statement of patronage (?) mentioning Abū l-Fatḥ Muḥammad Khān (1r; King). Numerous impressions of the big round ownership seal of Muḥammad ʿAlī, the wālī of Egypt (1805–1848), dated 1234/1818-9 (e.g., 237v, 238r); the codex was part of Muḥammad ʿAlī’s endowment to a library in his birthplace, the Greek city of Kavala, and was relocated to Egypt in 1929. Oval library stamps (2r, 238v). Accession no.: 5298/1929 (2r, in pink pencil).
Cod.: paper, 238 ff. (unfoliated; catchwords). A nastaʿlīq hand with tendency to naskh: almost fully dotted ductus, some hamzas, no shaddas or vowel marks visible except for maddas. Book and section headings and qawlu-hu / aqūlu in red. Diagrams carefully drawn in black and gold. Text area surrounded by a frame in blue and gold. Codex seemingly in good condition. Dimensions: 26×16 cm; 27 lines per page (misṭara imprints).
