statement of possession by the above-mentioned ʿAbdallāh al-Raḍawī, with two erased impressions of an oval seal (p. II). An ownership statement by Sayyid Kāẓim Dāwūd …, with an erased rectangular seal (p. II). Two more erased seals (pp. 298 [next to the colophon], IIIa). An oval seal dated 1089/​1678-9 at the top right of a dozen versos (e.g., pp. 103, 189, 215). A partially visible stamp of the former Kitābkhāna-yi Riḍwān (p. I), which was established by Mīrzā Riḍā Khān Nāʾīnī Qāḍī Nūr in 1349/1930-1; this codex, together with several other Ptolemaic manuscripts, was bequeathed by Nāʾīnī to the Āstān-i Quds in Murdād 1311/​1932 (library slip). Earlier shelfmark: ‘riyāḍī 82’ (library slip).

Cod.: paper, III+298+Va pp. (paginated with Persian variants of Hindu-Arabic numerals at the centre top of each page, starting with a verso and partially cut off from the scans; catchwords). Main hand in nastaʿlīq; dotted ductus with some vowel marks, hamzas and shaddas. Book and chapter titles and abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals in red; some catch titles overlined in red; propositions numbered in the margins with red abjad numerals. Clearly drawn diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or the other way around. Tables with red lines; a rosette (p. 150). One or two different nastaʿlīq hands for the notes on pp. IIIa–Va. Codex in very good condition; stains on the first and last folios, minor water damage, wear on the covers. Dimensions: 25.2×16.5 cm, written area: 16.5×9 cm; 23 lines per page in the main work. Dark-brown leather doublures with frames. Currently or previously type II binding (traces of the flap on the front doublure and p. Ia).
