a statement of ownership by Muḥammad Naṣīr followed by a rectangular seal dated 1118/1706-7 (p. III). A collation note dated Monday, 14 Rabīʿ al-thānī 1168/27 January 1755 (p. 417). Undated short note of ownership by Muḥammad Ismaʿīl Khātūnābādī (?) (p. III) followed by a rectangular seal, repeated after the last colophon (pp. III, 434). A note in French on a brighter type of paper stating that the owner refused to sell the manuscript, dated 1333/1914-5; the French note is followed by a Persian note stating that the owner refused to sell due to the manuscript containing the handwriting of Khwāja Ikhtiyār in several margins (p. IIIa). The manuscript was bequeathed to the current library by Mīrzā Riḍā Khān Nāʾīnī Qāḍī Nūr in Murdād 1311/July-August 1932, together with several other Ptolemaic manuscripts. Stamp of the former Nāʾīnī library (p. I). A round, blind-stamped library seal (p. 7). Scans of the appendices (pp. 417–IIIa) are provided under the separate shelfmark 19238.
Cod.: paper, III+434+IIIa pp. (paginated with Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals in the upper margins, with two unnumbered pages after p. 376 and occasional corrections; catchwords). A black nastaʿlīq; almost fully dotted ductus, occasional vowel marks, few shaddas and hamzas. Book headings rubricated; chapters (fuṣūl) introduced by red and overlined abjad numerals; propositions (ashkāl) numbered with red and overlined abjad numerals in the margins. Abjad numerals overlined or in red; Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals in red. Diagram lines in red with letters in black or vice versa; two diagrams on whiter paper glued in (p. 360). Table lines in red. Codex in good condition; some stains and smudges (e.g., pp. 48, 98, 215, 258); margins of pp. III–1 and 432–Ia restored. Dimensions: 25×14.5 cm, written area: 17.8×6.5 cm; 24 lines per page. Leather covers (Gulchīn Maʿānī). Apparently type III binding.
