Prov.:a rectangular stamp covered by the library slip (1r). A short Persian verse mentioning ʿAlī Shīr (194v). This manuscript, together with several other Ptolemaic manuscripts, was bequeathed by Mīrzā Riḍā Khān Nāʾīnī Qāḍī Nūr to the Āstān-i Quds in Murdād 1311/July-August 1932 (library slip and note in green ink on f. 1r). Several contemporary library stamps (1r–v, 4v, 268v), including blind stamped ones (1r, 4r).
Cod.: paper, 268+Ia ff. (foliated with Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil, with two unnumbered folios after f. 16, two after f. 53, three after f. 82 and three after f. 265, mostly with empty tables; catchwords). Main hand (17r–265v; 14 lines per page): nastaʿlīq; almost fully dotted ductus, no vowel marks, hamzas or shaddas; frequent use of textual dividers and red overlines. Ff. 1v–16terv and 265bisr–268v were supplemented by a secondary hand (12–19 lines per page): naskh with tendency to nastaʿlīq; almost fully dotted ductus, some vowel marks, shaddas and hamzas. Book headings bold, headings for Books I and III in red; sections introduced by overlined abjad numerals by the main hand and written out in red by the secondary hand; propositions numbered with red overlined abjad numerals in the margins. Catch titles for books in a hand similar to the main hand in red in the upper left corner of rectos in the main part, also on empty pages. Abjad numerals and Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals mostly in red and overlined; Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals by the secondary hand in red. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or vice-versa. Tables with red lines, some incomplete (15r, 47v, 53v) and many empty (e.g., 15v–16r, 155r, 257r). Empty space for a headpiece (1v) and a red double rule-border around the text area on ff. 1v–16v. Codex in good condition; frequent water or moisture damage, stains and smudges in the older part of the codex, some margins and corners restored (e.g., ff. 25–31, 256–265). Dimensions: 20.8×13.5 cm, written area: 12.5×6 cm. Black leather covers (Gulchīn Maʿānī). Type III binding.
