modern table of contents and statement of ownership by Muḥammad Ṭāhir al-Ṭabarī, who states that he bought the manuscript from Ḥājj Mullā Riḍā Khwānsārī in 1336/1917-8 and that it already lacked a folio (1r). Three stamps of the Majlis library (1v, 50v, 147v). Old shelfmark: ‘6426’ (inside front cover).

Cod.: 147 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals, Persian variants, in pencil in the upper right corner of versos; unknown number of folios missing between ff. 17 and 18; catchwords occasionally trimmed or pasted over). A single black nastaʿlīq; nearly fully dotted ductus, very few vowel marks, shaddas or hamzas. Book headings in black or red but not in a uniform style. Chapter beginnings in red and introduced by bold, black and sometimes overlined abjad numerals in the main text as well as in the margins. Subchapters mostly indicated by red and overlined abjad numerals in the margins. Headings of tables generally in bold thuluth. Abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals in the main text either red or black and overlined. Diagram lines in red with black geometrical points (rarely the other way around). Unfinished tables on ff. 71v and 138r. Codex in reasonable condition. Water damage in the upper margins, occasionally affecting the readability of marginal annotations; large parts of the corners and edges of ff. 18–21 restored by thick paper; folds often restored with tape. Dimensions: 26×18 cm; 27 lines per page. Cover in dark reddish leather, decorated with blind stamped borders and a central mandorla with two horizontal and vertical pin-shaped pendants filled with interlace. Type III binding.
