Cod.: paper, 213+IIa ff. (unfoliated, with the number ‘223’ on f. IIar presumably indicating the original number of folios; a small sheet of paper bound after f. 100, not included in our foliation, containing part of the text in the hand of the scribe; catchwords). Main hand (2r–213v): nastaʿlīq; almost fully dotted ductus, some hamzas, no vowel marks or shaddas. The text on the first page was rewritten on the restored bottom half of f. 1v: a fine naskh with tendency to nastaʿlīq; almost fully dotted ductus. Book and chapter headings rubricated; propositions indicated by red overlined abjad numerals in the margins. Abjad numerals and Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals in red. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or rarely vice versa; some diagrams lacking geometrical points (e.g., 116r–v, 118v); some blank spaces reserved for diagrams (e.g., 26v, 87v). Tables with red lines; some empty (e.g., 13v–14v, 51r–52v, 211v–212v), incomplete (e.g., 53v–54r, 175r–178r, 211r) or damaged (e.g., 70v). A damaged ornamental headpiece with arabesques in several colours on the unrestored part of f. 1v; a triple border surrounding the text area on f. 2r. Codex in bad condition; water or moisture damage in the margins throughout, particularly in the first and last parts; some wormholes, mostly around the fold, sometimes repaired by strips of paper; lower half of f. 1 repaired, upper outer margins of f. 2 torn; some smudges and stains (e.g., 19r, 38r). Dimensions 17.5×9.5 cm, written area: 10.5×4.5 cm; 20 lines per page. Brown leather covers. Type III binding.
