14 Shawwal 1231/7 September 1816 (384v).
Or.:Qajar Iran; probably copied by ʿAbd al-Wahhāb Mashhadī (1v–156v, 209v–384v) and by Abū l-Qāsim (157r–208r), who is known as the translator of a Persian version of the work; for the identification of the hands, cf. the signed marginal annotations by both copyists in this manuscript (see below) and ʿAbd al-Wahhāb’s marginalia in MSS Tehran, Sipahsālār, 8251 and Mashhad, Āstān-i Quds, 6349 of the same work. The present manuscript probably was a draft for the illuminated version presented to the Qajar prince Muḥammad Walī Mīrzā (1203/1789–1281/1864), dated Jumādā l-thāniya 1240/February 1825, which was auctioned by Bonhams in 2018 (see the preface of the present manuscript, ff. 1v–4v,
according to a note on f. 209r, accompanied by a small oval seal ‘Ibn ʿAlī Akbar’, the codex was owned by ʿAbd al-Wahhāb Mashhadī, was written on the order of Muḥammad Walī Mīrzā, and reached an unspecified library in Ramaḍān 1236/June-July 1821 through Muḥammad ʿAlī Mīrzā Bābā in Yazd; a similar note is found in the illuminated codex mentioned above). A poem dated 14 Jumādā l-ūlā 1251/7 September 1835 (1r). Accession number (?): ‘42370’, with date ‘23/11/21’/12 February 1943 (1r).
