% (the percent sign) is the placeholder for no, one or more than one character.
%% (two percent signs) is the placeholder for no, one or more than one character, but not for blank space (so that a search ends at word boundaries).

Or.:

copied at the Jaʿfariyya madrasa in Isfahan; copied from an exemplar dated to Sunday, 26 (لا كو) Jumādā l-ūlā 735/22 January 1335 (p. 565); other copies descending from that witness and writing its date in the exact same way are MSS Tehran, Millī, 35847⁢; Tehran, Malik, 3412⁢, and Tehran, Malik, 3340⁢.

Prov.:

an Arabic ownership statement dated 1335/1916-7, with an illegible signature (p. I). A Persian note on al-Nīsābūrī and his commentary by Aḥmad Kitābfurūsh (‘the bookseller’), dated 1335/1916–7 in Tehran (p. 565). A statement of purchase in nastaʿlīq with year 1338/1919–20 and signature ‘Muḥammad Ṭāhir al-Ṭabrisī’ (p. III), very similar to the statement with signature and year 1336/1917–8 in MS Tehran, Majlis, 6395, f. 1r; it is possible that this is the same Muḥammad Ṭāhir al-Ṭabrisī who recorded the purchase of MS Tehran, Majlis, 3853⁢ (p. I) in a thuluth hand in 1338/1919–20.
