a statement according to which the manuscript was owned by the Tunisian scholar Shaykh al-Islām Muḥammad Bayram al-Rābiʿ (d. 1861) and purchased in 1285/1868-9 (?) by Khayr al-Dīn Paša, Tunisian-Ottoman politician and Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire (d. 1890) (1r). An endowment statement by Khayr al-Dīn Paša in favour of the Zaytūna Mosque in Tunis, dated Rajab 1292/1875-6 (1r). A trimmed ownership statement by Khayr (?) al-Dīn (?) … b. Turka al-M… ʿAbd al-Qādir al-… (21r).

Cod.: paper, I+117 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals, only occasionally visible on the scans; catchwords, except in treatise 10). Nine hands for ten works, treatises 5 and 6 having been copied by the same hand. Hand copying treatises 5 and 6 (including the Ptolemaic work): regular maghribī, fully dotted with occasional vowels and tanwīns; beginning of syntactical units overlined, presumably in red; slightly oversized title and colophon. Remainder of the manuscript: regular maghribī (treatises 1, 3, and 4) or mostly sloppy naskh (treatises 2, 7, 8, 9, and 10). Neat sketches of the shapes of various comets (62v). Codex seemingly in good condition. Dimensions: 175×130 mm; lines per page varying between 17 and 26, with 18 lines per page in the Ptolemaic work.
