Prov.:almond-shaped seal of Sultan Bayezid II (r. 1481–1512) (1r). Large round seal of endowment from Sultan Ahmet III (r. 1703–1730) with somewhat below it an unidentified calligraphic signature. Rectangular library stamp with the current shelfmark (1r). Alternative shelfmarks: ‘handasa 25’ and ‘Y 140’ (Ir).
Cod.: paper, II+140+IIa ff. (foliated with Arabic-European numerals in pencil, with two unnumbered empty folios after the first and second parts; occasional catchwords). A single brown naskh hand; partially dotted ductus. Book and section titles in red. Geometrical points in the text and proposition numbers in the margins of the Ptolemaic work overlined in brown. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points, sometimes partially in the margins; improved diagram on whiter paper glued over the diagram on f. 55r; some additional diagrams in the margins as part of glosses (e.g., 6v–7r). Several tables. Codex in good condition; some ink corrosion, especially of letters in the margins and in diagrams; some stains. Dimensions: 28.5×22.0 cm, written area: 16.0 cm wide; 31 lines per page. Simple red leather covers with paper overlay. Type II binding.
