Round seal of ʿAlī Muẓaffar Khān fadawī-yi Pādshāh-i Ghāzī Muḥammad Shāh, dated 1131/1718-9 (1r, 170v). Statement of purchase by Muḥammad Yūsuf Ḥusaynī Wāsiṭī Bilgrāmī, dated 15 Shaʿbān 1156/4 October 1743, accompanied by his oval seal, dated 1150/1737-8 (1r). Three statements of ownership by a certain ʿIṣmat Allāh, one dated 29 Jumādā l-ūlā 1269/10 March 1853 (1r); on the basis of this name, Hidāyat Ḥusain attributed the work to the mathematician and astronomer ʿIṣmat Allāh b. Aʿẓam b. ʿAbd al-Rasūl al-Sahāranpūrī (second half of the eleventh/seventeenth century). An owner statement by Muẓaffar Ḥusayn Khān b. Masīḥ al-Dawla (?) dated 2 January 1870 (1v). Cod.: paper, 170 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals, mostly cut off from the scans; an older foliation at the top left edge of the text area, frequently omitted or cut off and skipping ‘114’; occasional catchwords). A single clear naskh hand in black; mostly dotted ductus, frequent shaddas (also for solar letters) and final hamzas, a few maddas and tanwīns. Book and chapter titles in the same hand as the main text; al-maqāla and al-faṣl oversized and overlined (e.g., 45r, 59v, 69v). Numerical values occasionally in Hindu-Arabic numerals. Letters referring to geometrical points in the text overlined. Several diagrams without letters and labels. Manuscript in mediocre condition; damage by moisture and insects throughout, affecting the readability. Dimensions: 5.5×8 cm, written area: 4×6 cm; 17 lines per page. Covers in leather with marbled pasteboards (note on f. 1r).
