the Ptolemaic work was completed on Thursday, 8 Rabīʿ al-thānī 673/​11 October 1274 (143v); the part on geometry was completed on Tuesday, 27 Rabīʿ al-thānī 673/​30 October 1274 (221v).

Cod.: paper, I+221+IIa ff. (foliated with Arabic-European numerals; quire signatures in the form ‘thāniya al-Majisṭī’ in the top left corner of every tenth recto; no catchwords). A single cursive naskh hand in black; mostly undotted ductus with no vowels, shaddas or hamzas. Centered headings in black. Few diagrams in red with geometrical points in black, some without geometrical points; substantial blank spaces for diagrams. No tables. Codex in very good condition; moisture stains. Dimensions: 24×13 cm; 24 lines per page. Quarter-bound covers on marbled pasteboards. Type II binding.

\1v\ المقالة الأولى من تلخيص كتاب بطلميوس في التعاليم وهو كتاب المجسطي مما حرّره الشيخ أبو علي الحسين بن عبد الله بن سينا. قال: وقد حان لنا أن نورد جوامع كتاب بطلميوس الكبير المعمول في المجسطي وعلم الهيئة — \143v\ لكنّا من وراء أن يتحقّق ذلك برصد نحاوله نرجو أن نبلغ فى استقصائه ما لم يبلغ قبلنا بعون الله وحسن توفيقه. وهذا آخر اختصار المجسطي.
