Prov.:acquired in Istanbul between 1925 and 1931 by the German-Turkish scholar Oskar Rescher (d. 1972). Modern stamp ‘Universitäts-Bibliothek Leipzig’ (1r).
Cod.: machine-made paper with watermarks (Andrea Galvani Pordenone, produced in the province of Venice from 1838 to 1880), I+465+Ia ff. (unfoliated; catchwords on almost every folio). A single clear nastaʿlīq hand in black; regularly dotted ductus, hardly any shaddas or vowels, substantial hamzas. Chapter headings in red, paragraph beginnings partially highlighted (mostly by words or overlines in red). Substantial figures and tables in red and black. No damage of any type. Dimensions: 233×158 mm, written area: 175×100 mm; 23 lines per page (misṭara imprints visible). Full leather cover in reddish brown over paper pasteboards with fore-edge flap and envelope flap (spine restored); blind-stamped medallion in diamond shape on front and back cover; frame with fillets, gilding still visible on back cover; inside decorated with marble paper (very similar to the binding decoration of MSS Vienna, ÖNB, Mixt. 1084 and Vienna, ÖNB, Mixt. 1085, which were likewise bought by Rescher in Istanbul). Type II binding.
