Several calligraphic ownership and reading statements, one by Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā and two by Muḥammad b. Amjad b. Majd (or Muḥammad?) b. ʿĪsā (1r). Old shelfmarks: ‘VF 43’, cod. 878’ (I^av), ‘913’ (Casiri).

Cod.: Western paper in folio format, II+107+V^a ff. (foliated with Arabic-European numerals in pencil; quire catchwords on every tenth folio). Three regular brown maghribī hands with mostly dotted ductus and occasional vowels and shaddas. First hand (1v–49v, including the Ptolemaic work): oversized titles and formulaic expressions in red or black with red diacritics, including al-bāb, kalima and al-tafsīr with ordinal numbers in the Ptolemaic work; abjad numerals. Second hand (50r–66v): tables framed in black and filled in red and black with abjad and Hindu-Arabic numerals (instructions in black on f. 50r, possibly by a different hand). Third hand (68r–107r): red oversized titles, abjad numerals, neat diagrams and tables in red and black. Short notes and glosses by other maghribī hands, at times with naskh influence. Codex in good condition; some moisture stains in the margins and occasionally in the written area. Dimensions: 35×22 cm, written area: 21×14½ cm; 29 lines per page on ff. 1v–49v, 25 lines on ff. 68r–106v. Rebound in modern reddish-brown leather cover over paper pasteboards with a blind tooled stamp of the Escorial library. Type III binding.
