the common rectangular, black seal of the library, indicating the reception of this codex as an endowment and featuring the old name of the institution (9r). Two round, blind-stamped seals, probably of the library (ff. 1 and 4); several contemporary library stamps (front flyleaf, 1r, 4v, 11v and 12v). Old shelfmark: ‘160’ (1r). The manuscript originally formed part of a single codex together with MSS 5206, 5207, 5293, 5295, 5299, and 5388 (Gulchīn Maʿānī).

Cod.: paper, 12 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals, Persian variants, in pencil in the top left corner of rectos; old foliation from before the rebinding running from ‘13’ to ‘24’; catchwords). A single black nastaʿlīq written diagonally (Fihrist and Gulchīn Maʿānī: ‘in chalīpā’), starting either at the right or at the left top of the pages in an irregular way. Mostly dotted ductus; no vowel marks, some shaddas, hardly any hamzas. Chapter titles rubricated; abjad numerals in the main text not highlighted. Diagrams mainly in the margins and often trimmed, with lines in red and geometrical points in black. Codex in good condition; moisture stains at the edges and around the binding; binding sometimes reinforced with pasted paper slips. Dimensions: 25.2×16.8 cm, written area: 19×11.2 cm; 25–27 lines per page. Cardboard covers (Gulchīn Maʿānī). Type III binding.
