A stamp of the Malik Library with the current shelf mark, dated 16 Farvardīn 1331/​6 April 1952 (p. III).

Cod.: paper, III+346+Ia pp. (paginated with odd Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil in the upper right corner of versos, skipping ‘285’; catchwords, sometimes trimmed). Two hands. First hand: naskh with tendency to nastʿalīq (pp. 1–299; 33 lines per page); mostly dotted ductus; some maddas and hamzas, shaddas only in the preface. Second hand:  nastʿalīq with minor tendency to naskh (pp. 300–346; 31 lines per page); almost completely undotted ductus; hardly any vowel marks, hamzas or shaddas. Book headings by the first hand in red, by the second hand in black thuluth with red overlines; section headings by the first hand rubricated, by the second hand in bold black with red overlines; some propositions, mostly in the part copied by the second hand, numbered with red abjad numerals with red overlines in the margins; qawlu-hu / aqūlu in red. Abjad and Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals only rarely highlighted. Diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points; a diagram of an instrument on a piece of paper glued onto p. 164; a diagram on a piece of paper glued onto p. 310. Tables with red lines. Codex in bad condition; heavy water damage throughout (including the doublures), with ink frequently bleeding or smudging, occasionally rendering the text illegible (but less so in the part copied by the second hand); lower half of p. III and few corners and margins (e.g., ff. 250–251, 346–Ia) restored with pieces of paper; covers heavily worn. Dimensions: 25.6×17.4 cm. Black leather covers decorated with a centre-piece (on the front cover with pendants) and corner-pieces, all lobed with floral motifs and surrounded by borders; dark-brown leather doublures decorated with a small centre-piece with pendants and borders. Type III binding, formerly type II (traces of a flap on p. Ia).
