ff. 9v–43r completed on Sunday, 27 Muḥarram 〈12〉67/1 December 1850 (41r, 42v, 43r); ff. 1r–8v copied by the same hand.


Cairo (from an exemplar kept at the Khedival Library); copied by ʿAbd al-Fattāḥ ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm b. al-Marḥūm al-shaykh (?) Ḥasan ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Tafahnāwī (8v, 43r); ff. 1r–8v were copied in the presence of Yaḥyā Afandī Hakīm (8v). This manuscript was copied from Cairo, Dār al-kutub, mīqāt Muṣṭafā Fāḍil 200, since it includes all four works copied by different hands in the latter (although in a different order) as well as its glosses and notabilia notes. The exemplar was in al-Kutubkhāna al-khidīwiyya al-miṣriyya in Cairo by the time the present manuscript was copied.

paper, I+43 ff. (foliated with Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil at the top left of recto folios; catchwords). A clear thick black naskh hand; red ink used for chapter beginnings, formulaic expressions, numbers and the text of Pseudo-Ptolemy’s verba; fully dotted ductus with several vowels and a few sukūns and shaddas. Hindu-Arabic numerals, except for the numbering of Pseudo-Ptolemy’s verba in abjad. Text framed in red. Codex in good condition; binding loose, reinforced with paper slips; some smudges. Dimensions: 228×163 mm (library description); 23 lines per page. Slightly damaged cover in çarkuşe binding with paper over paper pasteboards, decorated with a regular geometric pattern in yellow, red and black. Type III binding.

Rukn al-Dīn al-Jurjānī) (C.3.1327). — Title: Kalimāt Kitāb al-Thamara wa-tafsīruhā (explicit, 41r). — Index: commentator’s preface, 9v; Pseudo-Ptolemy’s preface, 9v; 102 verba intertwined with al-Ṭūsī’s commentary, 9v-41r. — Dated scribal colophon. Some marginal corrections and notes by the copyist. Part of verbum 98 and the whole commentary thereupon and verbum 99 skipped but then added in the margin by the copyist, along with the commentary on verbum 99 (40v). Two long glosses on verbum 100, both copied from the exemplar, one originally from al-Ghaznawī’s Kitāb al-Kifāya (40v).
