Ex-libris of Bayezid II (r. 1481–1512), possibly in the hand of the Royal Librarian ʿAṭūfī (1r); Bayezid’s pointed oval seal (1r, 127v). Round seal of endowment of Ahmet III (r. 1703–1730), accompanied by the unidentified calligraphic signature also found in many other Topkapı manuscripts (1r); stamp of the Ahmet III collection with manuscript number (1r). Old shelfmarks: ‘hayʾat 40’, ‘127’, and ‘ḥikmat’ (Ir).

(foliated with Arabic-European numerals in pencil; quire numbers with Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals [ranging from ‘2’ to ‘17’] in the top right corner of every eighth verso up to f. 103v, thereafter irregularly; no catchwords). A black nastaʿlīq with tendency to naskh; sparsely dotted ductus; no vowel marks, hamzas or shaddas. Book titles in bold and black thuluth; sections introduced by red abjad numerals; propositions numbered in the margins with red abjad numerals. Abjad numerals and Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals mostly in red. Carefully drawn diagrams, mainly in the margins, with red lines and black geometrical points or sometimes vice versa. Carefully drawn tables with red lines and headings in bold black or bold red thuluth. Codex in good condition; some damage by insects, especially on the covers and the first and last leaves; first and last page discoloured; binding becoming loose. Dimensions: 23.5×10.5 cm, written area: 19×7 cm; 29 lines per page (misṭara imprints, e.g., 127v). Dark brown leather covers with borders and a frame, central panels covered by black-and-white striped cloth. Type III binding, previously type II (traces of a flap on ff. I–1).
