Ptolemaeus Arabus et Latinus

_ (the underscore) is the placeholder for exactly one character.
% (the percent sign) is the placeholder for no, one or more than one character.
%% (two percent signs) is the placeholder for no, one or more than one character, but not for blank space (so that a search ends at word boundaries).

At the beginning and at the end, these placeholders are superfluous.

Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, lat. 7350

Date:

s. XVIin (perhaps c. 1510, cf. date 9 June 1510 written by the scribe in the upper margin of f. 136r).

Or.:

the MS preserves the astronomical and astrological teaching delivered at the University of Cracow in the late 15th c. (numerous mentions of the years 1483-1488 throughout) and derives at least partly from a MS of Johannes Virdung of Hassfurt (cf. f. 16r: ‘… excripse ex tabulis magistri Iohannis de Asfur…’, f. 125v: ‘… ex libro magistri Iohannis de Hasfurt’, f. 219v: ‘… hec de revolutione nativitatis scripsit magister Iohannes de Asfurt manuscriptum’). The MS is indeed very close in content to Vatican, BAV, Pal. lat. 1439 (see), a MS copied in Cracow by Johannes Virdung mainly in 1487-1488, even though it does not seem to have been copied on it.

Prov.:

Colbert; library of the kings of France in 1732.
