Prov.:an ownership statement by Ḥājj Ibrāhīm b. ʿAskarī (i.e., Ibrāhīm Paşa, viceroy of Egypt, d. 1848). An undecipherable statement bearing the number 2629, similar to others found in manuscripts from the Muṣṭafā Fāḍil collection. A partially faded seal of the Dār al-kutub. Old shelfmarks: ‘8573’ and ‘7589’ (all on f. 1r). The shelfmark is given as ‘30 m’ in Vollers & Ismat and GAS VII.
Cod.: paper, 9 ff. (unfoliated; catchwords). A single, quick naskh hand; fully dotted ductus, no vowels or shaddas, occasional hamzas. Red ink for qāla at the beginning of Ptolemy’s verba and for their numbering in the margins (in Hindu-Arabic numerals). A single table in black, carelessly drawn. Codex apparently in good condition; traces of damage, possibly moisture, on ff. 3v–4v. Dimensions: 20×15 cm, written area: c. 16×11 cm; 19 lines per page.
