Shāhanshāh al-Qāʾinī, which in turn was copied from the autograph (al-nuskha allatī kānat bi-khaṭṭ al-muṣannif) (p. 393); al-Qāʾinī composed two commentaries on the Almagest (C.1.48 and C.1.49) and issued a certificate of audition on behalf of the scribe of MS Tehran, Mahdawī, 486; the present copy includes four verses attributed to him (p. 393).

Cod.: paper, III+393+IVa pp. (paginated with Persian forms of odd Hindu-Arabic numerals in pencil in the top right corner of versos; catchwords). A clear nastaʿlīq hand; almost completely dotted ductus; frequent vowel marks, shaddas, and hamzas, especially at the beginning and end of the codex. Book titles mostly in bold thuluth; section titles in red and introduced by black abjad numerals with black overlines; proposition numbers in red overlined abjad within the text. Abjad and Persian forms of Hindu-Arabic numerals in red. Carefully drawn diagrams with red lines and black geometrical points or vice versa. Tables with red lines, some incomplete (pp. 349–350). Codex in good condition; some moisture damage mainly in the lower margins, first two pages and last page torn, covers worn. Dimensions: 26.5×17.1 cm; 19 lines per page (misṭara imprints; e.g., pp. Ia–IIa). Covers and doublures of dark red leather decorated with thin goldish borders. Type III binding.
